Roz is a fine art photographer who has been making images for over four decades. As a student at the Center for Photographic Studies, (1973-75) she met and worked with many of the leading-edge photographers of that era. She assisted with the printing of Ralph Eugene Meatyard's portfolio and was an apprentice to Henry Holmes Smith. During this time she started combining her passion for movement and light in a body of work titled “Women in Movement”. These images have been exhibited in numerous galleries, including the Ansel Adams Gallery in California. She holds a B. A. in Dance and Photography, and an M.F.A. in Choreography/ multimedia production. Her portraits of artists, dancers, authors, and musicians can be found in books, websites, and CDs. As an educator, she has taught photography and dance throughout the west and midwest. More recently, she has been offering workshops in “Sensory Literacy”.
When observing anything with our eyes, we are looking at different light wave frequencies. Our eyes translate light into color, shape and form. To assist with a greater understanding of how light works, I offer classes for small groups of people who are interested in becoming more aware of the the many facets of light and how it paints our world into existence. Photographic workshops can be booked for “Taking A Thoughtful Portrait” to “Life in Stillness”, where participants create “still life” images using found or personally precious objects. A personal portrait session can be scheduled upon request.
All images can be purchased as a Giclée.
